June 4th - The Damon Hamilton Project, Volume One: In Your Eyes...OUT NOW!!!!

After countless years of creativity, week after week of work, myriads of musicians, eons of editing & engineering, multiple rounds of mastering, & ridiculously repetitious recordings...the Album is finally here. Call it fashionably late, or call it much more rationally, fate. The debut album In Your Eyes has made it's move into the marketplace for all to see, here, touch, feel, buy, download and drink to.

Just this past weekend Kemlon Entertainment in collaboration with D.O. Music group put on an event that will certainly go down in musical history as one this summer classiest engagements . The invitation only, upscale attire required, multi-purpose, Red Carpet Premier celebrated not only the release of the album, but also the birthday of 5 out of the 7 members of the DHP. It is an anomaly for five individuals of the same Gemini astrology to share the same physical space, let alone be musicians within the same band, however, that's exactly the stage that the DHP has set by defying gravity on a level that the public will respect, lift up, but find difficult to understand.

May 28th - Lucky - New Single off the upcoming album Volume One: In Your Eyes

"It's like nothing I've ever felt before."
"All I keep thinking is...I must be...'lucky'."
"And then all of a sudden, this melody, this song, it was so beautiful, and it was soothing..."

All statements made in front of an inquiring agent and a curious detective, relating to the site effects of the DHP experience. Something new, something fresh, something addictive. Something catchy, something euphoric, something relaxing...

You're Lucky, pun absolutely intended, that you can understand and experience "Lucky", the DHP's new single. The "soothing" melody, and the "beautiful" lyrics of this reflective love ballad gives way to how the humble heart feels when it's truly "head over heels" in love. Damon Hamilton delivers his love entrenched perspective by thanking the heavens for the angel that "fell right from the sky". He's clearly a romantic in a traditional sense, but his casual, and clever delivery shows that when others recognize that he's luckily involved with a good woman, his grounded and humble spirit can state the obvious "that it must be the God's honest truth."

February 2011: Album in it's final stages of completion...

Damon Hamilton, Maxim Laskavy, & L.A.I.K. have been hard at work trying to wrap things for the upcoming album. This journey began some time ago when singer/songwriter Damon Hamilton (DHP) & producer/songwriter L.A.I.K. of D.O. Music Group, along with engineer/co-producer Maxim Laskavy of Ukrainium Sound teamed up to tackle the project. Since it's inception and the beginning of their relationship, the 12 track project has developed into what many say could be the most anticipated independent album on the Eastern Seaboard.

Production tweaks. Vocal adjustments. Instrumental Edits. Mixing. Engineering. Mastering. All these things are on the road ahead, but the music (recording), songs, and direction of the album are complete. The coming months will be evaluative, but will ultimately lead to the launch of a well put together debut endeavor by D.O. Music Group.

January 2011: The DHP hits...at Lickety Split

The Sounds of South Street has become quite an attraction. Attribute it's success to the operating heat during the winter months, or attribute it's success to the DHPs ability to heat up the room without the use of an HVAC. Regardless, people come in and up off of South Street when they hear a few seconds worth of what's going on upstairs at Lickety Split. Nothing more, nothing less than the quintessential Damon Hamilton Project. Robby Dee banging on the drums, Craig Bradley strumming the strings, Mariko Cummings on the Mic, along side the harmonic Range to the rescue, and Damon Hamilton at the helm with his Nord Electro settings on EXTRA HOT!

The DHP: a finalist in the 2010 Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance Annual Songwriting Competition.

* March/April 2010 - Out of over 600 submissions coming from songwriters all over the Tri-State Area, the DHP placed in the top 12 artists to compete for the final 4 winners. Philadelphia Area Songwriters Alliance (PASA) chose “It’s all about love” as their submission theme criteria for 2010, and this just so happens to be a topic that the DHP is all too familiar with. Damon Hamilton, the lead vocalist for the DHP and co-songwriter of D.O. Music Group gives his perspective: “Love, is the most common topic across all expressions of art, and more specifically music. What makes the DHP different, along with any other artist for that matter, is how we talk about it.”

* The DHP plans to compete for the final 4 slots in late May at a location to be determined by PASA. The final four winners will be awarded with numerous opportunities to share their expressions of Love, etc… at multiple music festivals throughout the coming summer months, as well as national radio exposure. Cross your fingers and cross your hearts…

Website Development Entering It’s Final Stages

* February 2010 - 1st you hear sirens, followed by the roaring engine of an emergency vehicle. Then, amongst all the drama, a random beat box rhythm drops that doesn’t quite belong on the scene of the crime, unless of course, you’re listening to “Road Rage”, the backround track playing on the “under construction” splash page of www.damonhamilton.com. The DHP website has been a project full of font fixing, image alteration, and formatting evolution over the past 6 months. Because this website will be the main portal to which all traffic will be driven, the D.O. Music Group design team, along with internationally based Lori Menna, have spent an astronomical amount of time and effort perfecting the soon to be revealed home plate for the DHP.

* Soon, each eye and ear that passes by the www.damonhamilton.com domain will be able to see, hear, and feel the DHP in their creative entirety. It is a place where music, videos, biographies, Twitter/Facebook updates, Photo Galleries, and Blog content will be at the forefront of each site-viewer’s perspective. The highly anticipated interactive site will incorporate the eye-catching designs of Lori Menna, the lucid photography of Lamont Wilson Photography, Czar Photography, and the awesome animation of EtherStudios. But for now, try and relate to the sentiment expressed by the DHP whenever they are stuck behind slow moving vehicle traffic, a phenomenon that surely frustrates them on the road, but would relieve them if they were to experience such volume on www.damonhamilton.com.

DHP Enters The Finals Of “Cream: Philly Rising” Competition – World Cafe Live

* January 2010 – Out of 100s of performers at the most prestigious & frequented open mic competition in Philadelphia, the DHP was chosen to compete for the finals along with 11 other bands. 2009 was an extremely active year for the DHP. From the time-consuming process of recording a live demo, to the patience-inducing process of producing a full-length album, to the nail-biting experience of being selected as a finalist in this battle of the bands competition.

* Luckily, the DHP has the audacity to handle their overflowing plate with poise, patience, and passion. They fully embrace their arduous upcoming schedule and say that it can only be perceived as forward progress. “Being busy is good business” – Says Small, the emphatic vocalist of the DHP.
* The DHP plans to use this Philly Rising Competition as an opportunity to grow their audience, gain additional experience on one of the best stages in Philadelphia, and enjoy the blessing of another chance to play together the music that they so adamantly promote.

ALBUM IN FINAL STAGES OF PRODUCTION

* December 2009 - Anything that is worth anything takes time and an immeasurable amount of patience. D.O. Music Group has been learning this lesson while in extensive preparation for the launch of its 1st artist (out of 3) – The Damon Hamilton Project or DHP. The debut unveiling has been looming above the heads of thirsty R&B listeners who have had the pleasure of catching an auditory glimpse of what’s to come.

* The DHP band has been leaving footprints at each live music venue up and down the northeast corridor building up an awareness that may soon turn into R&B riots if not promptly & properly addressed in the New Year. “I’ve seen this ‘under construction’ page for far too long” – remarks an anxious DHP fan regarding the still shot of Damon atop orange & white construction cones at www.damonhamilton.com. She ends by saying “luckily, I can at least listen to ‘Road Rage’ in the background while I wait for more stuff to come out!”. The Damon Hamilton Project could be one of the most anticipated independent albums of this upcoming 2nd decade of the millennium, where there’s a growing hunger for new soul music in the marketplace.

* L.A.Y.K. and Damon, the yin and yang behind the D.O. Music Group production team, have been burning candles on both ends finalizing the last high hats and B flats that will find their proper place onto the tenacious 10 track presentation. “It’s been an extremely lengthy process, but the journey begins when we launch. I mean, this time has essentially been a training ground for patience and preparation, two mandatory elements for success in this business, or any other,” states the usually optimistic Hamilton.

DAMON HAMILTON ROCKING CITY HALL – PHILADELPHIA

* November/December 2009 – Set up in front of City Hall with just keys and a mic, Damon Hamilton will be providing the soundtrack for holiday traffic in downtown Philadelphia. The Christmas Village in Philadelphia is a long-standing tradition dating back to the 15th century. It originated as a market for local farmers to sell Christmas specific goods presented in timber booths. The market has only increased in size and popularity over the many years since it’s origin. The booths will be selling everything from ornaments, arts and crafts, children’s toys, holiday foods and drinks to the cheerful public as they stroll through the village and enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

* With a warm heart of sincerity, Hamilton says “I am honored to be part of such a traffic generating tradition here in Philadelphia. The holidays are an important time for people to give thanks and to praise He who is responsible for our existence. It’s this type of environment; where we enjoy family, food, and friends, that makes heaven and earth smile.” Find more information about the event at http://www.philachristmas.com/2-0-Newslisting.html. LEAH SMITH ALBUM RELEASE WEEK

* October 2009 - Kicking it off for Leah Smith’s Debut Album: Beautifully Made, the DHP took the stage early in the night to warm up the audience. The Arts Garage, a live art, entertainment, and nightlife venue that features performance artists and nightly DJ dance music, is located in the northern part of Philadelphia. Many supporters of this musical movement were ever-present in the audience making sure the meeting of their palms was synchronized with the rhythm on the stage. Other guests included David James & a Christian Hip-Hop MC.

DHP RETURNS TO PERFORM AT CHRIS’ JAZZ CAFÉ

* September 2009 - The DHP fills one of Philadelphia’s most renown jazz venues in the middle of the business week, when all anyone needs is a little boost to get them over that hump. Well, if it’s a boost that you want it’s a boost you will get. The DHP lifts the heavily worked audience onto their feet with the head-nodding opener “Oh Yeah”. It automatically generates many ‘Oh’’s and many ‘Yeah’’s from the captivated listeners who can’t help but sing along to the catchy tune that so accurately describes this remark of satisfaction. It can certainly apply to anything, but in this case, judging by the engaged audience, it undoubtedly refers to their feeling towards Hamilton’s music.

* Ron T hosts the Sunset Sessions, a newly initiated tradition of bringing a mixture of established musicians and up and coming acts to the stage at Chris Jazz Café. The DHP began their run at this establishment as the latter, almost 2 years ago when they first performed at the Center City Philadelphia locale.

DHP FEATURED IN PHILLY.COM

* Damon Hamilton being featured in phrequency.com section of Philly.com is not the first, and certainly won’t be the last time you’ll see a publication hi-lighting the talents of this young singer/songwriter. Phrequency.com, a hyper-local music community dedicated to connecting bands, fans, and editorial staff through a variety of interactive channels, identifies musical trends and popularity in order to stay current on their purpose and to update their online presence. They filmed a set of The Damon Hamilton Project live at Chris’ Jazz Café and posted the video footage online as well as a stellar review of the performance by saying “Hamilton’s piano playing is ridiculously groovy and his band is incredibly tight…These are not just songs to sing to, these are songs to live to.”
